I just googled the Drug the Dr's have given me to releive my symptoms..... but in doing so i could get the following ???????
What side effects may I notice from receiving this medicine?
Side effects that you should report to your doctor or health care professional as soon as possible: •allergic reactions like skin rash, itching or hives, swelling of the face, lips, or tongue
•breathing problems
•confusion, depression
•dark urine
•fever
•numbness, tingling in hands or feet
•redness, blistering, peeling or loosening of the skin, including inside the mouth
•ringing in the ears
•seizures
•unusually weak or tired
•yellowing of the eyes or skin
Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (report to your doctor or health care professional if they continue or are bothersome):
•change in taste
•diarrhea
•headache
•loss of appetite
•nausea, vomiting
•passing urine more often
This list may not describe all possible side effects. Common side effects of using this drug include numbness and tingling in the fingers and toes, and taste alterations (parageusia), especially for carbonated drinks; both are usually due to mild hypokalemia (low potassium levels). Some may also experience blurred vision but this usually disappears shortly after stopping the medication. Acetazolamide also increases the risk of developing calcium oxalate and calcium phosphate kidney stones. Everyone will experience more frequent urination as a result of using acetazolamide. One should drink more fluids than usual to prevent dehydration and headaches. Acetazolamide prolongs the effects of amphetamines and related drugs.
What is this world comming to when the side effects of the drugs are worse than the sympotms they are there to treat????

It's ironic, isn't it? Knowing we feel terrible if we don't take it, and feel rough when we do! I've just started with the skin peeling, how attractive. And painful!
